You have selected "Pump out the pond and wash out the gravel".

Your answer is correct.

Pumping the pond out and washing the silt out of the gravel will help. Watergardens that have a gravel substrate on the bottom normally require a "flushing out" in the spring or fall once a year. By doing this you rid the system of the silt by pumping the slurry out of the system.

Pump the pond down. Place the fish in a container large enough to safely hold them, provide a supply of air and a cover. Move the plants aside, and spray the stone to dislodge the silt. Spraying it toward the deepest end of the pond. Nestle the pump in the stone in the deepest spot of pond. Spray the silt toward the pump and operate the pump as needed to reduce the water level. Once the pump has removed the silt, fill the pond. Add the dechlorinator, turn on the pump and filters, bag and float the fish to acclimate them and let them go. Add more microorganisms to the system. This is a yearly event.
