5/24/99Question: I have to clean out my bio filter in my pond every couple of days, it wasn't like that when I first put the pond in. What can I do to make my filter work better? Chip....
Answer: Chip, If the pond is a few years old then so are the fish which means they are bigger than when they started. It is possible that you have more fish than your system can handle. How about a bigger filter? Seeding your pond weekly with nitrifying bacteria can help keep the silt levels down to a minimum, and keep the filter from plugging up so much. Scott |
