Question:
Is it possible to keep a turtle in a pond that is 10ft in diameter and 3 ft deep? We have 4 frogs, snails, and at least 20 goldfish of varying sizes. The longest is 9 in. I want to keep the population of goldfish under control since they are having alot of success in breeding. All of the above have survived New England winters just fine. Could a turtle, like a native species, become part of this ecology without doing damage to the existing populations?

Thanks for any info you might have.

Answer:
WilliePaws,

It is possible, the turtle needs a place to get out of the water and dry itself off. One or two turtles aren't going to wreck your current system. Three or four are a pack of wolves.

Thanks and I hope that this was helpful,
