Question:
We have just installed a small 70 gallon pond and bought a couple of platinum koi which died straight away.
We have some other "goldfish" who are fine.
What fish and how many would you recommend for this size pond?

Answer:
Steve,

We recommend 1 inch of fish for every 5 gallons of pond capacity. This is considered a heavy load or maximum stocking rate. It may not be so much a matter of which kind of fish you put in the water but a matter of how many of which kinds.

I hope that this was helpful,

Scott Bates
