Question:
I have just completed a small (6'x4' plus small waterfall and tub of water at the top) water garden, and am wondering what the best plants would be in (and around) the pond for someone is very new to it and gardening in general. I would like to have a couple small water lilies........(I would also like to put a couple of fish in it.) What would be some good "floaters" ....the pond has four shelves for some plants....

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Brice

Answer:
Brice,

Easy to grow as follows, Lilies red Gloriosa, pink Carnea, yellow Chromatella, white Gonnere, changeable Sioux. All of these are medium sized plants except for Gonnere which gets a little bigger.

Floating plants hyacinths, water lettuce (good in shade), and frog bit. Unfortunately I cannot ship these out of state.

Bog plants pickeral rush, arrowhead, yellow water fringe, mini and micro mini cattails, Any of the taros (tropical)

Thanks and I hope that this was helpful.
